You'll probably feel like you can keep on reading forever when you are interested in spirituality, because there are so many areas and visions. Below is a list containing a number of books to help you on your way if you want to know more about the subject that on this site I've merely scratched the surface on.
- The Crystal Bible: A Definitive Guide to Crystals - Judy Hall
Contains an enormous amount of information and photos of crystals, my only objection is that it's not completely alphabetic, so you may have to search a bit. If you only want to buy one book, I dare to say this is it.
- Healing Crystals: The A - Z Guide to 430 Gemstones - Michael Gienger
Although it doesn't look it, this little book does contain photos of a lot of crystals. Of course the descriptions are very limited, but it definitely fits into your handbag a whole lot easier that Judy's book would. Easy to carry around with you when you go out to buy crystals.
- Hands of Light: A Guide to Healing Through the Human Energy Field - Barbara Ann Brennan
Very elaborate and tecnical, not really suitable for beginners, but it is such a beautiful book I mention it anyway.
- How To See & Read The Aura - Ted Andrews
This is a basic book, more suitable for beginners.
- Chakra Handbook - Shalila Sharamon
Extensive description of the seven major chakras. This book also offers meditations, excercises and tips.
-
New Chakra Healing - Cyndi Dale
In addition to the major chakras this book also descripes the minor chakras. I have read it, but it was ages ago and can't remember anything other than that I liked it.
- The Secrets of Bach Flower Remedies - Jeremy Harwood
A handy little book describing the Bach Flower essences. They are sorted by the group in which they belong (the seven emotion groups Bach made), so it will take a little getting used to, but once you have it is pleasant to work with.
- Flower Essences: An Illustrated Guide - Carol Rudd
This book is based on the Bach Flower essences, but also describes essences from several other systems. With each essence comes information about the plant it is made with, the way the essence is prepared and some case studies.
- Bach Flower Therapy: Theory and Practice - Mechthild Scheffer
Very good book on the Bach Flower essences describing the plant or tree it is made with, then a case study and lists with indications for use and their transformed potention. Language is a bit old-fashioned here and there, but the rest more than makes up for that.
- Illustrated Handbook of the Bach Flower Remedies - Phillip M. Chancellor
Another very elaborate book on the Bach Flower essences. Most of the information originates from the Bach Center in England, that continues the work of dr Bach. It offers clear descriptions of the essences and the negative emotions you can use them on, illustrated by case studies. There is less information than in Mechthild's book, but it clearer. Now if you were to combine these descriptions with Mechthild's lists....
- Growing Up with Bach Flower Remedies - Judy Howard
Another Bach Flower book, this time the focus isn't just the essences, but the situations in life in which you could use them.
- Flower essences of Alaska: A comprehensive study guide containing descriptions of 72 flower and 6 environmental essences prepared by the Alaskan Flower Essence Project - Steve Johnson
A description and history of the Alaskan Flower Essence Project.
